Zsa Zsa Gabor Hospitalized After Learning of Liz Taylor's Death

Zsa Zsa Gabor Hospitalized After Learning of Liz Taylor's Death

In the wake of Elizabeth Taylor's death, Zsa Zsa Gabor was rushed to the hospital Wednesday after her blood pressure soared. The shock of learning that Taylor, her friend and one-time neighbor, had died sent the 94-year-old Hungarian-born actress into shock, Gabor's publicist John Blanchette told Fox News.

Blanchette said Gabor was at her Los Angeles home watching the news Wednesday morning when she saw reports of Taylor's passing. "Oh, Jane Russell and Liz Taylor -- I'm next," Gabor uttered, superstitiously referencing the myth that celebrity deaths come in threes.

Gabor's husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, confirmed the story to the Los Angeles Times, revealing that Zsa Zsa was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where she was treated and released Wednesday night.

Gabor's health has been in decline for several years, but since her hip-breaking fall this past July it has plummeted steadily downhill. Her left leg even had to be partially amputated in January due to a life-threatening blood clot.

But the iconic star's publicist has faith she'll pull through. "She's not going to be the third," Blanchette said.

The Hungarian-born actress began her career on stage in Vienna, Austria, at the age of 15, was crowned Miss Hungary in 1936 and moved to the United States in 1941. Here, she became famous for her roles in films such as We're Not Married and Moulin Rouge, as well as for her nine marriages --  including a union with hotel bigwig Conrad Hilton, whose son Nicky was Taylor's first husband.
