Continuing onward with their two day visit, President Barack Obama and wife Michelle joined Queen Elizabeth II for a State Banquet in Buckingham Palace on Tuesday (May 24).
The upscale event was hosted by the Queen while attended by royalty, politicians, and some big screen celebrities including Tom Hanks, Tim Burton, Helena Bonham-Carter and Kristin Chenoweth.
As for what took place, President Obama delivered an honorable speech at the elite gathering, during which he thanked the UK for help with security and the military forces for "standing shoulder to shoulder with the US for decades."
The Queen also offered up some kind words towards the U.S. Commander-In-Chief, opening up the grand occasion by saying, "I firmly believe that the strength of our links and many shared interests will continue to ensure that, when the US and the UK stand together, our people and other people of goodwill around the world will be more secure and can become more prosperous."
